A Warm Cup of Sunset

There is strength in beauty

The Sunset — picture by author

Watching the sunset Drenched in stardust As the sun sets in the distance I reach out and grab it And hold the star Gently cupping it In the palms of my hands

Ouch! It sears my skin Glowing an angry orange It’s beautiful nonetheless Mesmerized, I admire it I don’t feel the pain

There is strength in love, in beauty.

A poem inspired by Trisha Traughber’s wonderful prompt, “Luck, Chance, Reversal of Fortune.”
