A War Worth Winning

Or it will never end

Photo by Brandi Alexandra on Unsplash

For seventy years I have felt the pain of war In my heart and soul.

Too many to count The lives lost, the bodies maimed And for what reason?

It is all for naught No one wins, for no one gains And we cannot stop.

It is not the field where battles begin or end Have we no feeling?

How can we stand by and watch and listen to death When our soul cries out…

ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH!

The wars of my youth are the wars of my adulthood and it is the battle I find within me that ceases to end. Is it so with all people or are there those among us that think nothing of life, but only of greed, ego, hatred, and more?

To those who are defending humanity’s right to life, to live in peace, I pray, I meditate, I visualize a laying down of all weapons of war. I ask this of the perpetrators of violence, especially those who within themselves, initiate and perpetuate the senseless acts that serve only those who have no peace in their hearts and souls.

And for those who can come to the conclusion that we are all connected and the best outcome can only be when we come together, work together, and collaborate, openly, with all peoples and all generations in mind.

Bless you, all, and may peace one day ascend to its ultimate position and priority!
