January Prompt: “How Does Your Pet make you a Better Person?”
I am genuinely unsure if I can write this without using my dog voice, or my dog gestures, but as dog lovers, I think we can all admittedly relate to this.
I don’t yet have a dog. I have never had a dog before.
Does this prompt even apply to me?? The answer: Yes. A dog is definitely on my vision board for 2022. I had two dreams back-to-back nights that my boyfriend and I had a little dog named Junior. And now, I am OBSESSED. No further questions, your honor.
Without a shadow of guilt, I will be one of those dog moms that brings her baby everywhere. Yep, you heard it here first folks: Anna, the nature-loving, sunset watching, chocolate milk fanatic, Anna, wants a purse pooch.
I have imagined myself walking around our condo with my junior just happily prancing behind me following my every move. I have pictured myself training him to walk steadily beside me when we are outside and thought of various tactics to help him feel comfortable when he first arrives to his home. I have done my best to imagine a beautiful life with my new junior, but…

The two intimidations I am most nervous about with getting sweet baby junior is the potty-training part, and the “no bark” command. So, if you have ideas, suggestions, articles, movies, tutorials, or even if you are a trainer yourself. Please let me know all the tips and tricks to owning a smaller dog.
So, I am asked, how does my dog make me a better person? I don’t know yet, but it has certainly brought the most nurturing, and more cringey obsession out of me. But I am not ashamed.
