A Two Week Softening
A poem
a two week softening you’ve seen me less and less I am a giver, a griever just like you, human
this is my body and this is my space oceanic tides the sound of my breath
what do you do to give back to yourself wrap your sweet loving arms around the fact you’re alive
test the viscosity of time as it runs between your toes feel the color of the maple before the cold front
arrives and blows autumn toward memory and takes another spin around the sun
this moment at dawn I offer it to you sweep the path sweep the path sweep the path
