A Trump Indictment is Good For America

Not for the reasons the Democrats are touting, though.

It’s a great day for a Trump indictment! Photo by Jon Tyson on Unsplash.

Finally, the Democratic Party of America can celebrate an indictment of former President Donald Trump.

This is fantastic news for America!

However, it’s not for the reason the left-wing party of America is busily touting on every news media and social media that will listen.

Elected officials and public servants should be held to a higher standard. The challenge is that this higher standard should apply to both parties.

When the average American citizen looks at how much money is spent on elections, we cannot help but think about the good uses of the billions spent.

We also suspect that many games are being played with money behind the scenes that never get brought to light.

The Democratic Party may have overplayed its hand in this Trump indictment. Now, every bit of campaign financing and the games played with these billions of dollars should be exposed.

I’d be willing to bet that when District Attorney Alvin Bragg handed down this indictment, he never bothered to think about what a small drop in the water the $130,000 hush money paid to a porn actress was in the grand scheme of the 2016 presidential elections.

Look at the amount raised by candidates in 2016 on the Open Secrets website and tell me there aren’t many games being played.

Hillary Clinton raised $563,756,928 in candidate committee money and $206,122,160 in outside money.

Donald Trump raised $333,127,164 in candidate committee money and $100,265,563 in outside money.

It gets worse when you look at how the money is spent, and this is where the exciting part of this indictment comes in.

CBSNews.com reported that the two candidates spent $2.65 billion ($2,650,000,000) on the presidential election.

This indictment is about .00049% of the money spent on the 2016 presidential election.

Beyond the excitement that should be generated when you think that we can now open investigations on every single politician running for office on less than 1% of what was spent on one election, imagine the far-reaching implications behind this indictment that nobody is questioning yet.

Could We Finally Have Campaign Finance Accountability?

I’m excited because this indictment opens up every single politician and would-be politician to the immediate investigation as to how they are using campaign finances.

Democrat Maxine Waters paid her daughter nearly $200,000 during the 2022 campaign. Will we finally see an indictment against Maxine Waters?

Republican George Santos, a brand new politician, already faces lots of questions about his resume, but also about his use of campaign finances. Could this indictment open up an indictment against him?

When politicians are raising these outrageous campaign funds and then funneling them back into whatever dark corner they believe will ensure their elections, there are so many financial games being played it would make your head swim.

Maybe, just maybe, this will finally be the nail in the coffin of outrageous campaign spending and we can finally have financial accountability at all levels.

Why have we seen so many questionable people running for local school boards? It’s not as if these are prominent positions. I believe the reason many people run for school boards has nothing to do with schools but has to do with getting in on the gravy train of getting wealthy as full-time politicians.

I am giddy with the possibilities, so please bring on the Trump trial. This is going to be great entertainment and hopefully, the Trump defense calls every single politician that might have questionable campaign funding challenges as witnesses to testify.

This May Not Be What the Left Intended

I doubt if this is what the New York City District Attorney had in mind when he pursued this grand jury indictment.

Most likely, he was merely looking at his political career path and how he was going to gain politically from being the first Democrat to actually have the courage to go after Trump.

I am sure he will.

However, this may not turn out exactly how he intended.

Now that it is common knowledge that you can remove political opponents from the scene by gathering enough political power to bring an indictment against them in order to end their political career, this is a political tool that shall be unleashed on all.

Just imagine if the governor of Texas used the state district attorney to go after Beto O’Rourke. We may never see the permanent loser of campaigns that raises millions of dollars run again. Who knows where he is steering campaign cash? How much ends up back in his family’s pockets like the Waters clan?

The possibility of finally seeing decent people run for political office may be within reach. Maybe we will get rid of the actors and actresses who answer role calls from political activist organizations looking to put people into office they can firmly control because they are handling the purse strings.

I’m looking forward to seeing this all play out and seeing balance come back to the finances of American politics.

Go for the gusto Democrats! This is going to be an open season into looking at the finances of every single politician serving and who has served.
