A Tribute

To all the ones who tried

A toast to those who have learned to sprout in adversity, Grown through doubt and depression, And dared to bloom in the face of naysayers and bad blood. For you are the cream of the crop and the pick of the bouquet.

Let’s pour one out for the ones who couldn’t bear the drought and harsh weather. Who struggled in the famine and faced the land barren and bare. Who inspite of their best became their worst and succumbed to the bitter heat. You are the lessons for the next spring and the new soil for the coming season.

Let’s raise a glass to the earth, sun and sky. Ever nonchalant to our individuality thus fair to us all. We may not choose our soil but we do choose how we grow, Whether that be bravery to face the sun or run to the safety of the undergrowth.

Thank you all for reading even if it is just one of you. There is something to be said about just trying for the sake of trying, regardless of the outcome or result. Because at the end of the day that’s all we can do.

We can try and make it through the day,we can try and do our jobs well, we can try and be happy. Life is in the trying. And we can fail or achieve but to be quite frank the failure or the achievement isn’t the point. The point is that you dared to do something in this world.

In a world that wants you to follow the grain and to fit in a mold. In a world where only certain kinds of unique are accepted, to have the courage to at least try is the grandest of feats.

You gave it it your all and that means something. I won’t say that wining or losing does not matter at all because no one wants to feel like they’ve wasted their time. However the prospect of winning or losing shouldn’t deter you or push you because either can happen. You’re failure or achievement is not predetermined but what is is your own ability and your own willingness to just try and give it a go.
