A Time of Watching

Will I sleep? Or will Agrypnia guard Like the hound of Hades The door of unconsciousness?
Will I join the secret society Of the eternally awake, Join the ranks of soldiers, sailors, airmen Bred to fight day after night after day, To destroy sleeping enemies in their beds?
If I do not sleep will I live double time In a half life, And scatter my four score and ten among a legion of weary wanderers?
If I do not sleep Will my right hand shake my left? Will my mirror image turn upside down, Shatter and rouse disciples into action?
I may not sleep. I cannot sleep. I have not slept. I must keep watch.
