A Testimonial To Creativity

Only Three But More To Come

I’ll be the first to admit when I first received an invite from Dr Mehmet Yildiz to sign up as a writer for Illumination, I was a bit hesitant. The invitation took place on the heels of another request from an incorrigible publication, which uses its writers as fodder for its own gain.

Although I had to step out of my comfort zone and take a chance, I’m actually glad I took the good doctor up on his invitation. Perhaps Dr. Mehmet spells out his vision for Illumination and the writers and editing staff’s progress in such a way my weirdly-wired brain gets it.

For some reason, when Dr. Mehmet offers the writers on Illumination a challenge, I find myself willing to push the boundaries of my safe little haven and accept it. I willingly submit, this latest challenge is something I simply love to do but just haven’t done it enough.

So being the underachieving overachiever that I am. I asked myself why I should only stop at one this time? I mean, there are literally thousands of stellar writers on this platform who totally float my boat, melt my butter, and make my day.

Thousands. So to give testament to these writers, one piece at a time would take more years than I have left to live. That’s why I’m providing a testament to three writers on Illumination today. Rest assured, there are many more, and I think we here in the writing community of Illumination should do our best to get to them all because they deserve the recognition.

Oh, before I start one thing to note. I was following and reading all three of these writers before we all joined Illumination.

Bridget Webber

Here’s Bridget’s profile:

What Bridget doesn’t tell you is she has a naturally beautiful command of the languages of sensibility and emotion. Merging her approach to commonsensical affairs of the heart and mind, Bridget simply spells out well-being and how to gain a real sense of self-worth better than most.

Bridget also has a no-nonsense way of presenting workable methods to alter our thought processes so we can turn away from destructive negative thoughts and set our sights on bettering ourselves.

And she loves to wax poetic.

Her poetry flows with emotional visages that embrace you in warm, protective sensations of peace and harmonious tranquility. For me, some of her poetic endeavors have literally jumped from the page and come alive, a virtual three or four-minute play of pure delight that left me shaking my head and smiling from ear to ear.

Bridget? Thank you for all the beautiful things you’ve presented to the reading community and for the wondrous works I know you have yet to share.

Joe Luca

Joe and I met one another virtually just a few short months before we both joined Illumination. I can’t remember if he reached out to me in a comment, or it was the other way round, but I know I love to read his work. Here’s his profile:

In all honesty, I didn’t realize Joe was an editor for Illumination, but it certainly will stand to reason for anybody who has read Joe’s work. The man in his understated way speaks volumes with tight prose that he husbands with care as if tending to the rarest of flowers in a garden.

In my humble opinion, Joe is literally Hemmingwayesque with power-packed phrases that leave no doubt you were just run over by an emotionally loaded semi-truck of a story.

Read Joe’s work. You’ll quickly understand when the man tells you he loves words, he not only loves his words, he makes love to them. Joe’s words respond like a real lover always does, pouring out visceral images that are stunningly enjoyable.

Joe, keep it going, brother.

And last but certainly not least.

Sherry McGuinn

Sherry’s profile says a whole lot more than it says. If you folks on Illumination haven’t read her introduction piece, I recommend you do. But even then, you’ll get just the tip of the Sherry McGuinn iceberg. One that could have dropped the Titantic in less than the two hours and forty minutes it took to sink.

Ah, Sherry Mcguinn, a firey and totally class act from the Windy City who has absolutely no problem packing and bringing the heat! I’ve been reading and following Sherry for quite some time, and I have to tell you with this stellar writer you learn to expect nothing and get everything in return.

There’s no topic safe from Sherry’s razor wit and desirably effective passion. With her words, Sherry can lift you up and make you smile, slam you on the ground and crush you beneath one of her stilettos, our have you rolling out of your chair with laughter.

Here’s the best way, in my humble opinion, to describe Sherry McGuinn. She’s got a big heart, an even bigger capacity to love, and possesses an inordinate talent of being able to take the heart she wears on her sleeve and bleed it all over the page. That my friends on Illumination, is the Sherry Mcguinn I love to read, and a writing sister you will most certainly want to read as well.

So there you have it, my Illumination friends. Three writers who I follow and admire and read daily. I hope my words have served ample testament to their talents, but I assure you their own words can promote their ability far, far better than I.
