A Technique Young Generation Can Use To Be Mentally Strong
Self-Doubt Is Fine, Moving On Is Important
For tennis fans, Novak Djokovic doesn’t need an introduction. He is one of the best players of all time.
His mental strength is one of his strongest attributes that has helped him win 24 grand slam titles. I watched a video where he mentioned how a change in his mindset helped him focus on his game.
“When you lose focus and things don’t go your way, that’s fine. Accept it and then come back. The time you take to recover from that emotion will differentiate you from others. Recovery is more important than trying hard to be always present (focused). (As a human being), it is almost impossible to be present always.”
We can learn 2 key lessons from the champion.
1. Accept Self-Doubt and Recover
Everyone goes through a process of self-doubt. Rather than thinking hard to stop our minds from self-doubting, it will be better to accept it and move on.
2. Conscious Breathing
Conscious Breathing involves mindful observation of your breath as it flows in and out of your body. This technique helps you achieve a state of calm and presence, aiding you in recovering from your self-doubt.
I wish I could have known this much earlier.
