A Tale of Two Kitties

March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “ Pet People”

We’re trying to cat nap here.

We rescued Mia aka Creature in the summer of ’09. She took a ride in my husband’s rumbly ’69 Chevy and my youngest son’s backpack to get here, but I think she appreciated the change of scenery from the trailer park where she’d been living. She took to my study, and the books within, like a kitten after my own heart.

Dee, short for Little Devil, wasn’t happy with Mia’s arrival and spent the first few weeks hissing and growling at the new kitten. They soon bonded, or at least Dee tolerated her much better.

Creature is still with us. Dee passed away in April ’15 and I still miss that french-fry-loving, iced-tea-drinking cat.

Thank you to Mary Chang Story Writer for the Six Word Photo Story publication and the wonderful monthly prompts.
