A Spiritual Triptych
The Trilogy Completes

raindrops unfolding individuality revel as they fall
into an ocean undivided eternal neither lost nor found
no longer needing fragments of duality awakened alive
This is the completion of a trilogy of triptych “heretical haiku” poems that focus on opening to and grounding the mind, body, and at last here the spirit. Each of these three highlights qualities that help us build stability to allow us to grow.
The first triptych focused on grounding the three aspects of mind. The second focused on three emotional energies that can help us navigate our lives more effectively (see below for links to each).
Lastly, in this triptych the power of individuality and the joy of oneness are highlighted as a duality that eventually evaporates into a place where we both include these aspects of lived experience (unity and separation) and also go beyond them.
The triptych alchemically highlights the number 3 in its strength in triangle form) to carry loads of stress without breaking. The trilogy makes 9 heretical haikus in total. Not only can 3 as a triangle carry the loads of life well, the number nine, numerologically, is unbreakable. Every multiple of 9, when added will make 9, for example, 9x2=18; 1+8=9, 9x3=27; 2+7=9, and so on).
Note: I use the term heretical haiku in order to denote that these are not traditional haiku nor do they fit in as senryu but they have a family resemblance to these forms.
