A Snowstorm’s Life Lesson

Looking at a day or experience in the view of starting again with a clean slate can provide your needed hope.

Blanket the flawed Earth beneath my feet Caress me as the layers multiply

As I gaze for miles, the path is fresh No footprints to track or imperfections to erase

My next step can begin again Any direction, depth, or distance

Leaving behind the day’s dirt and duty No need to wash away or dress for survival

I squint to see the edge of the horizon My eyes fall to the blanket rolled out before me

Its blinding light reflects the hope that warms me Glasses to shield, protect and urge my movement

Step one to twenty blazes a new trail I turn to stare from where I began

Look how far I have come I readjust my blinders, only looking forward

No more regret from the dry, dark days gone by I fashion a sturdy support to assist my journey ahead

Closing my eyes, I can still see the rays of light Bouncing off the pure snow around me

My breath writes my journey’s melody in the air Lifting my spirit and carrying my compass
