A Snowstorm In Early March Left Much Needed Moisture

Winter had been mild in Utah

The end result was a big dump of snow

There were weather reporters on television in Salt Lake City explaining that a big snowstorm was on its way. They had been lamenting the fact that Utah did not even get their normal storms for the first two months of 2022, and moisture was needed. The storm started with snow in the mountains.

There had been reports of rain, wind, and some hail in parts of Utah County and Salt Lake County before the snow started to fall.

After the snow started coming down in the Salt Lake Valley, there were several inches of snow on the east side of Salt Lake City. The snow continued falling through the night.

The scenery outside became beautiful with the trees being covered with the white fluffy snow within a relatively short period of a couple of hours.

By morning, after the sunlight had come, the snow had stopped for the most part. It left over a foot of snow in many places.

It made a winter wonderland. The birds did not seem to mind the cold and snow although it was more difficult to find food.

Although the winter months may not be the best time to travel to Utah for a vacation (unless it is for winter sports like skiing), the snow is beautiful when it falls. It is a pretty part of nature bringing much needed moisture to the area as well as making skiers, snowboarders, and other winter sports enthusiasts very happy.

People just need to be more cautious when driving or walking.
