A Sip of Light
An ephemeral haiku

The steam of sunrise wafts up from the horizon in magenta clouds.
When I walked out to my office this morning, the sunrise was amazingly gorgeous. Because it’s winter and I live fairly north in Canada, there is a stark beauty to every moment that showcases what light we receive during these long, dark months.
The sky seemed to put on a show, and I thought that it gave a great message to have as a takeaway: some of the best moments in life are fleeting and free to enjoy, but you just have to find them. Especially in the commercialism that epitomizes this time of year around the holidays, finding moments of peace and serenity can be hard. But they’re there.
Sometimes, it’s good to just stop for a moment and savor the splendid gifts of nature all around us.
