A Simple Prayer
For a not so simple world
In a home with no love or respect, a child waits to be cared for.
Praying.
In the street under a bridge comes a lady pushing a cart that contains her entire life’s possessions.
Praying.
Under a moonlit sky, the family wanders for the 1,000th mile hoping to find a home that will not be bombed.
Praying.
Inside the church, the family hides hoping that they will not be found by the authorities.
Praying.
Inside the emergency room, the wife says goodbye to her husband as he is wheeled up the the room with the other COVID patients.
Praying.
On the 11th floor of the hospital, the ventilator is turned off as the mother draws her last breath having never had the chance to say goodbye to her sons.
Praying.
The owner of the corner store closes up shop for the last time, because she cannot afford to pay her employees anymore.
Praying.
The call comes from the officer telling the parents to identify their son’s body.
Praying.
Looking upon the world with love and compassion for those who need our support.
Praying.
Seeing the beauty in all people. All religions. All colors. All ethic backgrounds.
Praying.
Seeing the beauty in everyone’s pain. Seeing the perfection in another’s wounds.
Praying.
Seeing the world healed as a reflection of our Creator’s love for us.
