A simple guide to accepting Jesus into your heart.
In these uncertain times, our need for Jesus becomes even more apparent, and our sense of urgency awakens.
What would life be like if you had a confident trust in Him and knew that the troubling times we are living in are all part of His divine plan to restore the earth from all the harm human sin has created?
What would it be like if you knew that nothing could separate you from His love?
What would it be like to know that no matter what happens around you or to you, you will enter His eternal and heavenly peace?
If you have yet to place your hope and trust in Jesus, do not let another day go by without accepting the gift of salvation given to you when you place your trust in the Son of God.
He alone delivers hope, peace, and salvation for our souls.
Revelation 3 tells us, “He stands at the door and knocks. If you hear his voice and open the door, He will come in and share a meal with you together as friends”.
Has the Lord been knocking on your door?
Do you hear His voice drawing you to him?
If you are reading this message, He is calling you now.
He draws you to himself because he has good things to give you, he has the plan to prosper you and not to harm you, to provide you with hope and a future.
He has a gift he wants to give you, and that gift is salvation for your soul, rest for your spirit, and peace that exceeds all understanding here and now.
Jesus walked the earth with a purpose assigned by God the Father, to pay for your sins. When you answer His call, open that door, and invite Him into your heart, he will adopt you as His child; he will wash you clean of all your past and sins.
The abuse you experienced throughout your life will lose its power over your emotions.
He will remove the guilt you feel for mistakes and sins you committed as a result of that pain and others you made because of your own humanly desires.
God desires to make you whole and will restore your soul if you let Him.
“For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.” — Hebrews 10:10
Your past, present, and future sins, will be forgiven when you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died and rose again for the forgiveness of your sins.
He is alive, and He is calling you today.
“If you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household.” — Acts 16:31
As someone who has walked in darkness, isolation, sin, and frustration, I know what it means to have Jesus transform your life. I feel a responsibility to share what He has done in my life so that you, too, can receive all the beautiful things God has planned for you. He loves you, and He has been directing your steps up until this very moment because, as his child, He wants to bless you with every good thing.
All you need to do is to acknowledge that you need Him and invite Him into your heart. Then, He will wash away all your sins and write your name into the book of life — that is your ticket into heaven. You will receive salvation and never have to wonder again where you will spend eternity.
Salvation is a beautiful gift that has immediate, as well as eternal consequences.
It is liberating to know that while we are and will always be a work in progress, God has given us the gift of forgiveness and salvation. It’s a gift. We cannot earn through any of our actions what He gave us freely out of LOVE.
We need to accept it to tap into His goodness.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we wouldn’t have to suffer eternally for what we have done. You will have a new life or be “born again” in your spirit. Change doesn’t happen overnight; He will show you and help you gently. Once you are born again, you will receive the Holy Spirit, and He will guide you and help you to mature in life and spiritually.
Once you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, your next step will be to tap into his promises through your obedience. I once heard someone say, “You make a choice, and He makes the change.” This statement couldn’t be more accurate, repentance (change) is required to walk in the fullness of God’s promises and desires for you, but you will not make this change alone or in your strength. Next, you will want to get baptized to receive the gift of God’s Holy Spirit.
Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. — Acts 2:38
The Holy Spirit allows us to see and think at a higher level. The Holy Spirit is how God engages with us. He will stir in you a desire to be in ongoing communication with Him. You will be able to see things in a new way and understand the scriptures in a more meaningful and relevant way. As you lean into Him through prayer and study His Word (The Holy Bible), He is going to reveal to you His desires for you, He will strengthen you, and you will begin to blossom new fruits. He will overflow out of you into all of your relationships, and you will be a light in the world. He will transform your life from the inside out.
Accepting Jesus Into Your Heart
Here is some language you can use if you want to take this step. This prayer is only an example. You can also choose to say it in your own words.
Lord Jesus, for too long, I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I ignore your call when I hear you knocking. By Faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are real. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.
