365 Days in the Garden

A Short Piece About Quick Results

Thoughts on how visualization shapes reality

These bulbs are already for sale locally—photo by author.

A few days ago, I wrote about planting bulbs and not letting the idea that it’s too late stop you in life.

In that piece, I said:

In a few weeks, I will be able to buy small pots full of hyacinths ready to be forced indoors or popped into the ground to bloom in a month or less.

Today, five days later, I went to get my bike and spotted the above display at the flower shop near the repair shop.

Did I bring them into my life sooner because I wrote about them and imagined them? Or did I see them sooner because the visualization opened my eyes?

The correct answer to the above questions is “both/and.”

During 2023 I plan to write daily about gardening and other topics full of life and joy. Here is a link to posts I’ve written in the past year about gardening.
