A Secret of Life…

Try a little “nostalgia in advance”

So what the heck is “nostalgia in advance?”

Think with me here:

We all have favorite times in our lives that we look back upon fondly. Bruce Springsteen even sang about it years ago in “Glory Days.”

Now, in no way am I suggesting we get stuck in the past or live in the past.

Here’s how I think it works:

Often, after we’ve lived through a special event or special time, we’ll look back and realize:

“That was a really special time.”

That’s a good thing.

An even greater thing is to realize it when we are living in a very special event or time. To realize:

“What’s happening right now is special.”

Unfortunately these times tend to be rare.

But what if they weren’t rare? What if we could apply a little “nostalgia in advance?” What if we could live in an almost constant state of realizing:

“I’m living in the good old days, right now!”

Or as Carly Simon sang in “Anticipation”:

“These are the good old days”

“Nostalgia in advance” Try it on, see how it fits.

Just some thoughts on a beautiful Monday morning…

If we’ve not met, let’s do that here:
