A review of “Your Home Is My Business! (家売るオンナ)” — Japanese TV series
Comedy, but you can see Japanese housing culture and society

Last month, we bought an Amazon Fire TV, and it was easy to download the Rakuten Viki app, which mainly provides Asian movies and TV series with English subtitles.
I watched a Japanese TV series, ‘Your Home Is My Business! (Japanese title:家売るオンナ) which was on TV in 2016 in Japan.
It was a story about a 30-year-old Japanese lady, Machi Sangenya, who is working as a realtor in Tokyo where the houses and real estate are the most expensive in Japan.
Buying and selling houses in Tokyo is not straightforward. The clients are demanding and it’s tough to find the perfect property or buyer.
She takes her job intensely seriously and always says, “there is no house which I cannot sell!”
Real estate is a tricky business wherever in the world, but the story includes lots of humanity. Also, you will see what is going on in Japanese society.
It has stories about ‘Hikikomori,’ a trashed house (hoarding house), homeless, a house with a history (crime, suicide, etc.), a single mother, celebrities, a duplex shared with family in law, and more.
If you are interested in Japanese culture and want to know how people think about family, work and money, it has everything.
The story also reflects the change of working style in Japan, for example, how to train the new people in companies, how to make a relationship with their clients.
Of course, you can simply enjoy it as a comedy as well!
