A Quick Way to Make Money Writing

Open Medium and the home page is filled with articles on how to make money by writing articles! How Mr. X made YYYY by writing on Medium. Making money is important for many of us, no doubt.
Many people walking this earth are looking for a way to make a quick buck.
When someone tells them they can make thousands of dollars just by typing a few words on a laptop or even smartphone — with no investment — there are a gazillion takers. On another level, I wish to thank the writers for promoting writing to make money! Way better means of “earning” money compared to cheating, robbery, fraud, etc.
I don’t despise those who jump on the money-making-hack bandwagon and ride the wave. They do what they have to do. I wish I would see a lot less of those articles on my home page, though.
What does a platform like Medium mean to you?
For me, though, and many others I assume, Medium means more than a trick to conjure up money, to be rich. I love to write. I write a lot of ‘technical’ articles in my past jobs. I have been writing blogs, articles, white papers, and other types of documentation for a while now. I do okay, maybe more than just okay! I thoroughly enjoyed writing those articles!
Meanwhile, the other side of me, the personal views, and beliefs have been choking inside with no outlet to express. I had considered starting a personal blog, but the overhead and maintenance associated with it had put me off. A blog is usually centered on a theme, say cooking, lifestyle, health, etc. It is difficult to share random thoughts on blogs and expect takers for it. I am no celebrity!
Enter Medium
Medium has now opened up a new door for me. What I saw on Medium encouraged me to write about my non-technical or less technical, and random thoughts and share them with the world.
Being an introvert and guy who gets constant prodding for not talking enough, writing on Medium is a great way to open up. Express and let go!
I find it full of opportunities. There are so many great publications out there for every topic I can think of. There is so much to learn from other writers! My journey has just begun and already I am learning new things, improving my skills. Getting paid for what you love doing, is just a bonus!
