A Quick Announcement

Dear friends of Writers’ Blokke, I hope that all of you are doing well and keeping safe during this crazy pandemic that has taken over the world for almost 2 years now. It’s unprecedented times and I think we’re all just taking it one day at a time.

Anyway, some of you may have noticed that in the last week or so, your articles may have taken slightly longer than usual to be published after submission.

When I first started this publication, one of the things I wanted to do was to ensure that all submissions are approved or rejected within a 48 hours time frame — or faster than that whenever possible. While I have been able to keep to that over the last 2 years, personal as well as professional commitments are taking up most of my time right now.

You would know that I work a 9–5 job and right now, it’s starting to get really busy. It’s also a reason why I’ve not been publishing over the last couple of days because I just can’t find the time to do so.

And this has somewhat disturbed my plan of taking Medium more seriously and seeing it as a part-time job.

However, despite that, I’m still trying my best to approve new writer requests and reviewing/editing submissions as quickly as I can. That being said, do expect some delays in the coming days, weeks or months even. I will still try my best to get all submissions approved or rejected within the 48 hours time frame but if I don’t, I do apologise for that.

As much as I enjoy writing on Medium and running Writers’ Blokke, my main income is still from my full-time job so my priorities lie there. Until the day comes where I can actually make a full-time income on Medium, that’s just how things will go.

But I promise you this, that I will keep trying my best — as long as it doesn’t burn me out.
