A Poem of Appreciation

Beyond grateful to all my followers — here’s a heartfelt thank you!

Coming to me with the orange streamers of sunrise, my Day starts with a moment of reflection and grace. For Every person who deeply feels messages of kindness, For every heart that’s known love as well as breakages Good and bad, big and small, quiet and loud, Here’s one more piece of gratitude to fit Into the jigsaw puzzle of our lives and friendship. Just as anger can be passed from one sullen heart to another, Kindness can follow a better path from soul to soul. Let worries of today fade into the past and disappear. Maybe there are skeletons that hide in our closets, but Nobody can make them dance to the drummer’s beat, Only us. Seize today and tomorrow and next week and Perhaps spreading joy will return it to us threefold. Questions always have answers, even if from unexpected places. Rarely is a solution unable to be found. Spreading hope is often where I like to find my answers. There is more happiness than sorrow, endless joy found Under the umbrella of friendship, rather than the storming of enemies. Violence can become peace, Winter unfailingly turns to spring, Xeric deserts gladly welcome their first raindrops. In the end, Your friendship and support is what I consider the Zenith of my accomplishments. Much love and gratitude to all.

Abecedarian poems are a poetry format I learned about on Medium from the wonderful writer Ali. Essentially, each line starts with the next letter in the alphabet, beginning at A and going all the way to Z. For this poem, I’ve included the “A” and “B” in my title and subtitle, then started the first line of the poem with “C.” (Sometimes poets do the reverse and start at Z and go back to A). It’s a fun format, but I must admit that the hardest letter is “X.”

I recently realized this past month that I’d topped 3,000 followers. How amazing it is that 3k+ readers and writers have read and appreciated my words enough to follow me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This poem is for all of you.

While I’d love to give a shoutout to each and every one of you fabulous folks, it would probably be impossible to list 3k+ writers here, so I’d like to call out just one amazing writer who follows me and/or who I follow from each letter of the alphabet.

So, here’s my abecedarian shoutout of some truly wonderful writers on Medium (letters by either first or last name):
