Opinions

  • The author expresses humility about their dancing skills, humorously admitting to having "two left feet."
  • There is a sense of contentment and appreciation for the small joys in life, such as greeting people and the sensation of the sun on one's back.
  • The author conveys a positive outlook, hoping for the reader's day to be bright despite the literal grayness of the sky.
  • The poem suggests a sense of community and continuity among writers and poets, as the author borrows lines and invites others to participate in the creative process.
  • The mention of the "Lord of the Dance" implies a spiritual or philosophical perspective that sees life as a dance and acknowledges a higher power related to this concept.

A Poem Inspired

The Daisy Chain Continues

Thanks, Agnes Louis for inspiring this little poem. It has been a while since I’ve written more than a haiku, but here goes:

As I Go On My Way

Aye aye these pair of feet Keep on movin, groovin’

But I do confess

A dancer I am not -

A walking I will do

But having two left feet

No dancing for this old bloke

But down the street I go

Greeting folks along the way

The sun is on my back

The sky above is gray

The air smells fresh,

No smog at all today

I say a little prayer of thanks

As I go on my way

I hope your day is not so gray

I wish you health

And a pleasant day

As I go on my way.

I borrowed the first two lines from the poem cited above. Anyone care to join the fun? May the Lord of the Dance be with you.
