Summary

The webpage discusses the necessity of experiencing pain and suffering as an integral part of genuine spiritual growth and transformation.

Abstract

The article emphasizes that true spiritual wisdom and insight can only be attained through the challenging process of facing pain and suffering. It describes the spiritual journey as a battle within oneself, where the ego must be tamed and the old self must be shed to allow for a rebirth of the spiritual self. This process is likened to a death and rebirth, where one must let go of false narratives, societal programming, and material attachments to embrace a more authentic existence. The pain experienced is seen as a choice of the soul to accelerate learning, pay karmic debts, and evolve, ultimately leading to a deeper understanding of oneself and the universe. The article suggests that only by surrendering to the discomfort and trusting in the journey can one achieve a true spiritual awakening and find their purpose.

A Painless Spiritual Path Is Not a Real Spiritual Journey

Pain Is The Pathway

There is no other way to find deep spiritual wisdom except through pain. Pain and suffering shed layers of your ego till the illusions disappear and what you have is nothing but the truth.

The moment you awaken and embrace your spirituality, a war begins inside you and that’s truly painful, but nothing great can happen without sacrificing something.

You sacrifice your old self — the mind — and rebirth begins.

The mind is the ego and it’s troubled and contaminated by society. The ego needs to be tamed, pruned and shed off all that doesn’t serve.

The ego will sit in the driver’s seat, but that is not its place. The ego that drives leads to chaos and destruction. The perfect place for the ego is the backseat, where it can watch your back.

The soul has more control and knows things the ego does not know. But ego is strong and won’t give up the driver's seat without a fight. It kicks and screams and tries its best to drag on any situation to keep you stuck in the old mindset.

When ego won’t let go of control, the experience for the physical body and mind is like being pulled down into a dark abyss looking for something to hold on to.

It’s uncomfortable.

The ego can make you think you’re going crazy all in an effort to stay in the driver’s seat. But it doesn’t take long until the suffering becomes too much to bear the body seeks to heal.

The Rebirth After Death

As you start to heal, you surrender to the universe and, as your old identity is lost; you gain a conscious piece of your spiritual self. This loss of identity is what feels like death itself, but in reality, it’s a rebirth.

Physical birth happens through discomfort, and physical death is also uncomfortable. The dissolution of all that you think you are is uncomfortable, but it’s true love.

Love is ruthless when it strips away all that is false, but the mind will still not be fully supportive of you because of its physical attachments.

If you’ve recently experienced a spiritual awakening, it means you’re dying a slow death of all the false narrative, societal programming and conditioning you have held on to till this day.

It’s like removing your old skin, just like a snake sheds its old skin and is renewed when the new skin comes in.

When you wake up and become aware that you are indeed a spiritual being with spiritual energy inside of you, everything you thought you knew changes and this can be painful to deal with. It’s like you’ve changed but don’t know who you are or are becoming yet.

But all that is getting ready to be revealed to you.

The Soul Chooses Pain

The spiritual self is the soul and spirit, and the physical self is the body and mind. The soul and the body are in constant communication to exchange energy, information, and knowledge.

Knowledge of the universe is available to everyone, but it is those curious souls who want to learn more that awaken.

It is the strength of the soul with the strength of the body that pushes you to become your greatest self when it prompts a spiritual awakening.

Pain and suffering truly are the only paths to spiritual wisdom. They balance out karmic debts and hence speed up soul evolution. The quicker the karmic debts are paid, the quicker the spiritual transformation and soul evolution.

This is why some souls choose a harder life path.

It all depends on what you can learn and the wisdom you gain. The best way to learn in life is to go through a vast array of life experiences that enrich and make you wiser. You learn as you do the work to heal your “self.”

Healing involves facing shadows and monsters, and it’s scary, but it teaches you many things. Don’t try to run back to your old self. Face your fears and overcome them. Then they’ll serve you.

Let go of your old identity and the old, outdated societal programming and embrace your true, authentic self.

You may not even know who you are anymore and how you fit in this world. Thinking about it may bring feelings of emptiness and can make you feel purposeless but that too has a purpose.

The ego cares how you fit in. It wants you to feel loved by everyone, accepted by society and understood by them. The soul wants you to love, accept and understand yourself.

That’s the purpose.

The soul directs your path, and the spirit teaches you to be aware, alert, and to move with intention. It teaches you the right way to live and helps you improve your life.

When you improve your life, you start to feel better. When you start to feel better, you understand your pain better and use it to find your purpose.

When the ego and the soul disagree on this, it can create intense and unnecessary suffering.

The ego needs reassurance that you’ll be okay. Then it’ll let go of the control, take the backseat and watch your back.

When your ego is cool and your mind is emptied of its old conditioning and programming, even though you may feel a bit confused and lost, you allow space for the soul to help you grow so it can evolve.

If you allow it, your soul will direct you into a new way of living and lead you where you're meant to go.

The soul chooses its experience, and that makes it the best driver. It knows where it's going. It sees all the things you don't see and knows everything that will happen in your life.

Surrender and Be Nothing

Awakening is all love and good vibrations, but it is not for the faint-hearted. It is painful because of the love and the attachment we develop for physical things.

You may have to let go of many things because they don’t serve you anymore and only weigh you down.

Letting go is hard, but it’s freeing.

It opens up space and brings in good energies. Material things mean nothing and you’ll be tested on your ability to let go.

The mind that becomes attached to physical objects will definitely result in more pain.

Avoid attaching yourself to anything material. Only worry about your bare necessities and tomorrow will take care of itself.

You Can Trust The Pain

Many people who have awakened have gone through a great deal of pain in their lives. They’ve encountered some fear. Fear of loss, fear of uncertainty, fear of the unknown, and fear of death. But the pain and fear lead them to the truth.

If there’s been no pain or fear on your awakening path, consider the fact that it may be a real spiritual awakening. It may be something the ego has made up.

To experience true awakening, you must die to your old self and that’s pain.

Most people aren’t fully awake because they refuse to deal with the painful truths. They can accept the good parts of themselves and not the bad. So they cover the badness with the goodness without looking deep.

But that’s unhealthy.

Pain happens when you see or hear some hidden truths about yourself that you weren’t ready to see or hear but once the truth is accepted, it doesn’t hurt anymore.

In true awakening, you accept it all. And then you’re neither good nor bad.

You just “are.”

The only way this is possible is through self-love.

No one can accept all of who you are, but you can. People will always judge you, but you can stop judging yourself. No one is coming to save you from the pain and suffering.

Only you can.

It’s normal that you feel pain in the beginning of your journey, but once your new life starts, even the suffering starts to feel like it had a purpose.

You have to surrender everything you think you are or think you need to do and then be nothing. Accept that you know nothing at all and you have so much to learn.

The soul working through the body creates life situations that are all benevolent in truth but may not feel like it at the time of suffering.

It is only in hindsight that you see the blessing in a situation that felt like a painful death.
