A new world

I was prepared for the mental cost of worrying about how to get through the restrictions threatening parties, bars, lunches, dinners, sports, for the sake of our health an attempt to relieve the strain of the system for everyone.
Hoodies and comfortable pants. Lots of cooking and a cup of tea playing Bon Iver. Browsers, mobile devices and tablets providing social activities to keep you busy other ways to get in touch with people to interact with our World.
Welcome to this way of life
today’s and tomorrow’s.
But, in the midst of adjusting to a new lifestyle and an unclear future could be possible to create new purpose care for each other taking responsibility for your mental health trying to make the world a better place.
[Words and sentences from Lundagård, a student magazine from Lund University]
This found poem is the first piece of a collection on coping — in the broadest possible sense. I created it with support and inspiration from Trisha Traughber’s writing community, Tip of the Iceberg, a quiet, safe haven from all the noise.
As I write, many countries in Europe — including my homeland Italy — have been in lockdown for weeks. Meantime Sweden, where I currently live, is an anomaly, refusing to adopt any drastic confinement measures. I hear the cheerful laughs of children in the playground outside my window and I am not sure how I feel.
For now, I read, write, draw, learn, crochet, stay at home… and wait.
