A New Start
Life - A Poem — From the Mountain

Morning sun hides still, peeking out From behind the distant mountain tops Clouds race by overhead still Threatening another day of God’s tears
In the distance, I hear the gravel crunching A vehicle climbs this mountain road slowly Foretold by the barking of distant dogs A warning of potential intruders on this mountain
Four days of rain now embraced by warmth, as Morning sun pierces through the branches of the forest around Deer, young and old, peek through the trees aware This is their sanctuary to roam free from harm
The morning sun has cleared the distant mountains Its rays warm the morning air, lighting up the forest Birds come out from their forest homes Chirping happily, rejoicing, dancing in the sky above
Rising slowly, I take my place outside My office, overlooking this scene of wonder and life Carpenter bees hover and honey bees flit A spider’s new web glistens with dew
The world around explodes in shades of green A forest of trees reaching as one into the sky above Golden rays of the morning sun Gently caress this beautiful world around
Of grass and trees, of birds and bees And all of the awakening nature’s sounds The morning sunlight is now everywhere found And once again I am reminded of these words
Each new day is another chance for redemption To fix the past and plan for tomorrow To start anew a life long-lived, and dream Today is now, and the very first day Of the rest of your life
