Catchy beats and uplifting bops, Set the tone when love is good. But when the mood starts to drop, Love fails to prevail when it should.

The songs get sadder, and the lights dim, The dancing slows in sombre times, The final act: it’s sink or swim, Lovers must make up their minds.

The spotlight shone on a broken heart, Is there a happy ending to be found? The actors perfect their parts, Until the encore comes around.

A perfect kiss saves the day, A happy couple swings and twirls, Singing words of love as they sway, A rush of joy in a jubilant whirl.

The crowd applauses, a standing ovation, Fairy-tale endings bringing smiles, The room is full of excited elation, Characters victorious over trials.

The performers take a final bow, The curtain drops, bringing the end, Lessons taught still leave a wow, Even if it’s all pretend.

For musicals are a true reflection, Of love’s trials and tribulations, Charter’s the course of love’s imperfection, And reveals it’s strong foundations.

I love musicals so much and I love romantic musicals especially so I wanted to combine that with a poem for Valentine’s Day!
