A Mountain That Helps Me Look On The Pink Side Of Life
A room with a view

It feels like a normal day: I get up and look outside the kitchen window. There it is the mighty Monte Rosa. If I think about it, I guess it’s not common to see a pink mountain. Mountains are white, brown, or black, and sometimes ice and snow add shades of light blue. You can find pink in flowers, flamingos of course… but then… a mountain!
Every day, when I have breakfast in the kitchen or when I sit at my desk and look out of the window, I look at Monte Rosa. It is the second-highest mountain in the Alps and western Europe, after Mont Blanc. Though the Italian Rosa, as well as the French Rose both, mean ‘pink’, the name derived from the French word rouése, meaning ‘glacier’.
Actually, it is pink at dawn and sunset.
Whatever the meaning of the name, I look outside and I think ‘good, it’s still there’, it makes me feel stronger and protected. I know all the people who live in my area have the same feelings towards the mountain. Whenever someone talks about his house, he mentions: we can see Monte Rosa from a window. It means it’s a nice house.

Monte Rosa is our safe harbor, it reminds us of our land. It gives me more energy to start the day and it helps me look on the pink side of life!
Thank you Trista Signe Ainsworth for the prompt and for reminding us every day how precious and generous nature is.
