A Mother’s Love

Once in a year there’s just a day We set aside to share and say So many things we love about A woman we can’t do without. For every first, my mom was there — From words, to steps and locks of hair. She’s cooked me food and bought me clothes; Made little piggies of my toes. She shared her smile when I was sad, And crossed her arms if I was bad. She rocked me gently off to sleep, And dried my tears when I would weep. She changed my dirty diapers, too. There’s nothing that my mom can’t do. There is so much she chose to give, Her best and more, so I can live The life that I am meant lead. She’s catered to my every need. It’s not often enough I share Or show her just how much I care. So thank you, Mom, for all you’ve done Through all the hard times — and the fun! I love you more than words can show, And on your day, I hope you know.
