A Mother’s Day Tribute
A poem about my mother who has always been there for me.
“…and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.” (Psalm 113:9).
Mother, A Rose
A rose is still a rose Through the storms and the rain A rose is still a rose Any day or any hour No matter what, a rose will be a rose Sharing beauty with all that beholds.
Mother, you are A Rose Over the years you have proven to stand tall Sharing love, joy, and understanding with all You never wavered in your authenticity You always remained the rose you are.
You are my refreshing, and charming rose When I had crosses to bear, you were there Made me stronger during my weaker moments Shared wisdom when guidance was needed Wiped my tears with love and understanding Laugh with me during my triumphs Encouraged me to pursue my dreams To reach not only for the sky but the stars, alike To run the race, and don’t get weary For in due time, God will provide You supported all my endeavors Cheering me on as if I was running a marathon You were my head cheerleader of the hour A cheerleader that an athlete can only dream of “It is not where you are springing from But where you are springing too.”
My Rose, thank you for giving me life, love, and nurturing And more importantly over the years yourself God could not have given me a better role model I am thankful for your beauty that glows from within, without Providing unconditional love & beauty as only a rose could.
Today, every day, salutations are to you do, My Rose For being special in your words, touch, and smile A very special lady that is great to behold By the young and the old Because you bring laughter, joy, and love to us all Many lives are more enriched, like a rose, you stood tall The Words, “If I can just touch one life as I travel This way then my living has not been in vain” My Rose, rest assured your living is not in vain Your loving touch will defy time, place, and circumstances May your beauty forever entrance those you behold And those that behold you, alike, today henceforth.
