It was a bustling evening, a three-generational family gathering, and a vibrant and dynamic beginning of the event. The atmosphere seamlessly blended a delightful array, with grandparents sharing their life’s earlier experiences and parents efficiently managing various tasks with laughter. Playful children powering a cheery, occasionally noisy, and at times overwhelmingly deafening ambiance were still wanted cute members.

The purpose behind this lively gathering was to welcome the new year of 2024, coinciding with the birthdays of two esteemed family pillars. The mood resonated with harmonious activity throughout the entire Christmas school vacation, with family members converging for nearly a fortnight.

Two large tabletops were adorned with meticulously packed gifts for each family member, New Year, birthdays, and members who couldn’t attend Christmas celebrations. Children’s insatiable curiosity led to the chaotic unraveling of gift packs, creating a joyous mess. Amidst this atmosphere, my daughter gifted me with an envelope that arrived from Amazon; here is your gift — a book to read.

A smile adorned my face as I glimpsed at the brightly-covered book. While I knew its identity, its true significance remained elusive until I could immerse myself in its entirety. Eventually, I realized that this literary gift was the perfect beginning of my new year.

Reading the book transformed my perspective, unraveling the life and motivation of an unapologetically honest and audaciously courageous young woman — the author, Gurpreet Dhariwal. Here, I articulate my impartial judgment in my modest evaluation of “Interview with Gems of Medium Part 2” by Gurpreet Dhariwal. I affirm my focus on providing a rational assessment devoid of imposing unwarranted assertions.

About the book:

While exploring the contents of “Interview with Gems of Medium Part 2,” the opening page presents a profound question: “What about the story of a writer?” This thought-provoking query, one I had not considered before, prompts reflection inward. While many biographies and autobiographies aim to inspire future generations, Gurpreet introduces a legitimate question — delving into the evolution of the author’s life over time. An adventure in the writer’s beautiful life.

Gurpreet’s intention in conducting these interviews appears noble, delivering a subtle message to aspiring authors: “Looking back brightens your future”, akin to a diamond discovering its worth through the skill of a seasoned diamond cutter.

Each author’s response to the meticulously crafted questions designed to extract the essence of their lives is noteworthy and sincere. Despite the similarity in the questions posed to each author, the wealth of knowledge derived from their distinct perspectives is considerable. The revelation from each author stands out for their uniqueness and remarkable honesty.

Spanning over 278 pages, the book accommodates interviews with 40 contemporary authors, all offering insightful responses. Hailing from diverse backgrounds, predominantly associated with the Medium platform, all these authors collectively contribute to the rich tapestry of insights for a meaningful life.

I found each interview enjoyable, with every author imparting a distinct life lesson and embodying inspiration. Without delving into specifics, I entrust readers with the opportunity to derive their enjoyment from the book’s contents.

About the author:

I recall the day that I initially encountered Gurpreet’s article, which left an indelible impression on me. Instantly, the realization struck — what a courageous woman! She exudes a captivating blend of boldness and grace, delivering impactful blows while maintaining assertiveness. Above all, her communication is brutally unhesitant. This needs daring courage, yes, an undeterred firmness.

This perception has firmly etched on my mind after delving into several of her articles. I pondered for a while, contemplating what led a female author to embody such a character. Gurpreet’s writings reflect the pain inflicted upon her by a dishonest segment of our social structure and the pleasure of her inner power with which she overcomes life’s challenges. The current flowing from her thoughts elegantly glides through her pen, leaving an indelible impact on readers. Such profound writing is a testament to an author with an open-minded and daring approach.

Gurpreet needs no introduction; she stands as a prominent name in the expanding literary world. In her early thirties, she has to her credit an impressive collection of four books: “My Soul Rants: Poems of a Born Spectator,” published in 2020; “Kaurageously Yours” in 2021; an interview with Gems of Medium at the beginning of 2023, garnering widespread acclaim from readers globally. Her fourth book, released in December 2023, marks another milestone in her literary journey. A writer, poet, painter, and generous donor, Gurpreet is characterized by kindness, compassion, and intelligence, intricately weaving layers of gold into the hearts of her readers.

I confess I got the book because I am one of the interviewees, to boost my image on my bookshelf. After reading the candid interviews of others, I realized what I earned silently from others’ unique life lessons is a windfall treasure worth a million folds of my imagination.
