Summary

Carolyn Hastings is advocating for "twittles," a form of micropoetry, to be included in SpaceX's Mars mission as a means of uniting humanity and preserving our collective consciousness.

A Million Voices Sing, ‘Let’s Get Twittle to Mars!’

Elon, can you hear us?

I wish for one million voices come sing with me into the abyss a message to SpaceX-Elon Musk “Please, let’s get twittle to Mars.”

‘If your voice could be heard by one million people, what would you say?’

It’s a question Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) posed in a recent prompt post. In answering her own question, she wrote

I would ask each and everyone to tell their story

Soon after, Mark Tulin responded to the prompt, sharing his worldview from the perspective of compassion and inclusivity —

If I were behind the mic, talking to a million attentive ears, I would champion the weak, awaken the strong, show solidarity, and overcome.

A Call for Compassion, Mark Tulin, Jan. 10 2022

Mark tagged me into the prompt, so here I am being everything he’s not, and promoting my own agenda!

Twittles!!

Specifically, twittles to Mars!

Twittle-to-Mars Campaign

Cutting to the quick, I’m on a mission to convince Elon Musk that twittles are the perfect literary footprint for his SpaceX astronauts to plant on Mars in 2026. 🚀

Yes, it’s pie-in-the-sky dreaming, but Elon knows all about dreaming big, so why can’t I? 😊

One thing is for sure — I can’t do it by myself. I need help. The more the merrier. A million would be great!

A million voices all singing, ‘Let’s get twittle to Mars!’

Elon, can you hear us?

Answering Lucy’s Question

Lucy, I know this wasn’t what you had in mind when you asked the question, but now that you’ve asked it, and Mark is waiting for my answer, here it is –

If my voice could be heard by one million people, I would tell them about twittles, and encourage them to jump on board the Twittle-to-Mars campaign. Why? Because I believe twittles have the power to bring humankind together, and, to quote Elon Musk, ‘(together) we have a duty to maintain the light of consciousness to make sure it continues into the future’.

For those of you who don’t have the foggiest idea what I’m talking about, I explain it all in the article below 👇, including all you need to know about the 100-letter, 4-line micropoems known as twittles

If your appetite for twittles has been whetted, here’s a list of them to keep you going for a while — but not too long — remember we have a campaign to work on! 😅

Jump on Board the Twittle-to-Mars Campaign

Here’s a few suggestions on how you can get involved —

  • become a twittler — join the happy band of twittlers who have already discovered the art of twittling
  • add the ‘twittle’ tag to you list of followed topics on Medium, and keep a look out for twittle stories in your feed
  • share a twittle story on social media — pick a twittle from the twittles list and share it to your favourite social media platform. Remember to use the #twittle hashtag. 😉
  • leave a comment on this post if you want to be part of the campaign and I’ll add you to the twittle fan club
  • send me a PN if you know Elon Musk!

If Lucy’s ‘one million people’ question is noodling your brain, you’ll find the prompt details her e—

And, because it’s a really inspiring, humanitarian poem, here it is again — Mark Tulin’s response to the prompt —

Thank you, Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她), for finding room for this piece in your publication, The Brain is a Noodle. Thank you all for reading. 🙏 💕
