A Mighty Mouse in My House Caught with 2 Plain Ingredients that Work!

The fear factor shrieked at level 10 for this dainty old lady

It popped into my kitchen out of nowhere.

Eke! A mouse.

Now, don’t ask me why women respond highly upset by a little creature who is equally scared of you.

I stumped my foot. It ran to a corner beside a cupboard, then disappeared.

What! How could something disappear into the wall like that? Was I mistaken? Am I descending into dementia? Was it just an illusion?

Couple days later, Mr. Mighty Mouse appeared again.

Now, this is getting serious.

Off I run to Ace Hardware. $25.00 for rat poison. Umm, seriously. And directions said to mix with sunflower seeds.

Concoction ready. I placed it in the basement.

Darn it! Two weeks later, Mr. Mighty Mouse appeared again, this time upstairs. No. No. No. What am I to do now?

YouTube to the rescue. Saw all kinds of ‘solutions’. I bought mouse traps and cheese.… But once captured, who’s gonna take the dead mouse out? Me?

No can do.

Oh, here’s a suggestion: Fill a bucket with water, and run a small plank to the top covered with peanut butter. When the mouse reaches for his treat at the top, he’ll fall into the bucket and drown.

Every day I looked for the drowned mouse, but he outwitted me again.

This is getting tiresome.

My budget wouldn’t allow for full-fledged rodent killer services.… So guess I’ll try it. This concoction worked and here are the reasons:

Mice Anatomy

It amazed me mice can pass through gaps of only a few centimeters wide. The explanation lies in the flexibility that they have between each one of the small vertebrae that make up the spine and ribs of the mouse. This way, they can bend easily, giving birth to the incorrect myth that they do not have bones.

First, they check that their head can pass through because they know that if their head can go through, the rest of their body will squeeze through too. But how do these small rodents know if their head can fit?

They do this with their sensory organs, their whiskers, or little hands. These help them determine the size and distance that surrounds them. Then, they decide whether it’s a good idea to go through or find another way.

How to Get Rid of Them

The mixture of cornbread and baking soda works because:

4 T spoons Real honey corn muffin mix + 4 T baking soda.

When the mouse eats this mixture, it interacts with the acid in its stomach. It bubbles. Mice can’t burp and they can’t fart and that’s why it kills a rat or mouse when they ingest it.
