A Message of LOVE on Santorini

Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Freestyle”

Splatter of concrete sends us love.

We spent just three days on the famous island of Santorini in Greece over Christmas 2015.

It was a spur-of-the-moment decision to travel there from Paros, another Greek Island, before heading back to Athens.

It wasn’t the ideal time of year to be there. Many of the shops and restaurants were closed, and the island was very quiet.

Maybe that is why we got such a good deal on our room.

The cool winter weather didn’t make it ideal to go to a beach or sit around by the pool. Instead, we found ourselves doing lots of walking around and hiking.

One day we were passing an old construction site, and I noticed this white heart on a rock. Upon further inspection, it looked to be an old glop of concrete or mortar that had stuck to it.

We had been having a bit of a rough day that day as none of the transportation was running according to the schedule and we had missed our bus.

But I remember seeing this and feeling loved.

Sometimes these small messages from the Universe can uplift us. We just have to be open to seeing them.
