Poetry prompt: weird cravings

a delicious snack corn chips and peanut butter crunchy all the way
I love tortilla chips because they are perfectly sized vessels used to transport deliciousness to my mouth. Deliciousness that includes guacamole, salsa, that white sauce from my favorite Mexican restaurant, hummus, spinach dip, queso, Pico de Gallo; I could go on and on. But my new favorite snack is dipping tortilla chips in peanut butter.
Yes, you read that correctly; I dip my tortilla chips in peanut butter. And to make it even more cringe-worthy for some of you, the peanut butter has to be crunchy. The smooth stuff is an abomination to this world. Crunchy is the only way to go.

I discovered this deliciousness by accident, don’t worry, I didn’t have the munchies; well, I did, but not in that way. I was eating tortilla chips one day, and I had nothing to dip them in. Well, that is not quite true; I had some avocados and the ingredients to make guacamole, but was too lazy to put it all together.
Guacamole has simple ingredients, but it takes time to get them all chopped and combined. I needed a snack right then and there; you know this as instant gratifoodcation. Sigh…this is the world we live in, people.
So, the food Gods knew my heart needed another option for my tortilla chips, and it was at that moment, this ray of light burst through my ceiling and shone down on the jar of crunchy peanut butter. See, normally, I keep the jar of peanut butter inside the pantry, but on that day, I left it sitting on the counter by mistake. Which therefore confirms that it was in the stars to create this magical combination. After all, there are no coincidences; thank you, Universe.
Wait, did I really create this snack? Give me one second…ah, crap; it is on Google. Apparently, this is a thing, but how? Who would dip tortilla chips in peanut butter? And they have even gone as far as making nachos to include jelly and apples. Can we say gross?
Here I was thinking peanut butter and tortilla chips were a weird food combination, but I guess after 2020 no more rules apply; everything is upside down. Next thing I know, we will be eating ketchup sandwiches, right Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她)?

Also, I read Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) piece and thought that with some added cheese, I would be all in for that sandwich. You can check out her weird cravings piece here:
I would like to thank Michael Burg, MD for tagging me for the prompt. Please read his piece here:
If you have weird food cravings, leave a comment and let me know, or better yet, write a poem to tell your story. It is always better to allow your creative juices to flow.
Thank you all for reading, and thank you, Gaby, for allowing me a space to write about deliciousness.
