A Love That Could Have Been
The Longing

We crashed like a wave Upon the shore of your warm embrace We sailed the ocean Aimlessly, without a trace But you saved me
Before the sky and stars were born We were one, do you remember? Wondering what it would be like to build a life together But we… we forgot our true nature Living only in dreams
Shadows, I see nothing but shadows Silent nocturnes But no divine form Where, oh, where Are the fallen stars That fed us with light I had to forget the past to find myself You showed me the light when I was reborn Beyond life, beyond yourself, you are with me
You are with me I know, it’s too late now to say I love you But maybe one day when we will find each other again and remember How two hearts beat in the same rhythm
I know, it’s too late now to say I love you But maybe one day when we will find each other again and remember How two hearts beat in the same rhythm
Often we crossed paths Asleep, lost in dreams But tomorrow may be different When you immerse yourself in love And your emptiness will be filled

We wandered separate paths, Ghosts of a life we could have known. High walls of silence kept us apart, Our hearts’ true nature remained unseen. But your memory lingers like a melody, An echo in a forgotten tune. It haunts my dreams, a ghost in the night, A muted cry for love abandoned.
I yearn to touch you once again, To feel the warmth on my skin. To gaze into your eyes, and then, See my reflection shining within. The space between us stretches wide, An ocean formed of time and regrets. In waves of separation, we confide, Struggling to reach a distant you.
Yet hope remains, a flickering flame, That someday we’ll find our way back to each other. Reunite under the stars, And mend the wounds of love’s legacy.
Until then, I will keep your memory, An ember burning in the night. A symbol of a love grown old, But never truly lost from sight.
Perhaps one day, fate will smile, And offer us a second chance. A chapter in our story to extend, With an ending bathed in morning dew.
So I will dream, with heart ablaze, Of when we’ll meet and intertwine. When souls reunite in a passionate kiss, And love forever will entwine.
I search for whispers in the breeze, A fleeting touch, a ghostly sigh. In fallen leaves, I hope to see A glimpse of you, a teardrop dry. The world keeps turning, hums its song, While echoes of your laughter fade. Empty streets, a voice long gone, A melody my soul has played.
But in the silence, I recall, A promise whispered on the stars. That love, though broken, may enthrall, And reunite us, heal our scars. With every beat, my heart still cries, A rhythm echoing your name. A yearning deep within my eyes, To light love’s embers, quench the flame.
Perhaps beneath the moonlit sky, Our paths will cross, an embrace so true. The tears that fall, a teardrop sigh, Will mirror starlight, me and you. Though shadows linger from the past, And doubts may whisper in my ear, Hope’s ember burns, forever fast, For love’s true essence, ever near.
Will fate, perhaps, a hand extend, And offer us a chance to mend? Or are we destined to pretend, Forever lost, love’s broken end?
The future holds a veiled unknown, Only time will make its secrets known. But hope’s faint ember will never be extinguished, A burning dream, where hearts can grow.

I wanted to share this poem, “Lost Love” with you all. It’s about the bittersweet experience of losing someone you deeply care about and the lingering hope that maybe, just maybe, you’ll find your way back to each other someday.
The poem starts off with a powerful image of a wave crashing on the shore, symbolizing that intense but fleeting connection we sometimes have with someone. We build these amazing sandcastles together, but then the tide comes in and washes it all away. We get lost in our own worlds, wandering separate paths, like ghosts of a life we could have known.
But even though things are lonely and empty now, there’s still a part of me that holds onto hope. It’s like a tiny ember flickering in the darkness, reminding me of the warmth and love we once shared. It’s that flicker that keeps me dreaming, picturing the day we might meet again, our souls reuniting under the stars.
I know the future is uncertain, and there’s no guarantee that things will work out. But this poem is a reminder to me, and hopefully to you too, that even when love is lost, it leaves an imprint on our hearts. It shapes who we are, and sometimes it even pushes us to become better versions of ourselves.
So, this poem is for anyone who’s ever loved and lost. It’s a reminder that you’re not alone and that even in the face of heartbreak, there’s always the possibility of finding love again, or at least, finding the strength to keep moving forward.
Thank you for reading, and I wish you a wonderful day
