A Love Song for My Princess

A song written from the heart at a time of uncertainty.

When I first met my wife-to-be, it didn’t take me long to fall in love with her. “What were her feelings?”, I wondered. I was certain of mine, but apprehensive about hers. Was I hoping against hope?

I wanted to send her a package like the one in the photo above, but I was hesitant. What if she didn’t feel the same? Would she perhaps ‘go cold’ on me, and would I lose her … forever?

My feelings towards her were so strong. I didn’t want to lose her. So, I wrote a song about it, called “Princess”, because that was what she was … to me.

For quite some time it remained secret, only to me. Here (below) are the words of that song. Maybe, if you are in similar circumstances, it might help you to reach out to the one you love. It helped me, because I did eventually ‘pluck up courage’ … I even showed her (and sang!) the song:

And she loves me! Even to this day, many, many years later. And she is still “My Princess”. PS: Her name is Khatija.
