A Lot Of People Struggle To Be Consistent. I Am People

Short story about overcoming roadblocks and understanding your priorities in the creator game.

Writing should be fun

Writing should be exiting

Writing should be a way to discover yourself. Understand your surroundings better and see the world from a whole new lens.

For me, writing has been all of that and more.

What about more? (Isn’t mental fulfillment enough?)

No, well at least, not in the position I am in.

I’ve been completely off the grid for a whole week now on Medium.

I’ve been having a lot of school work to do, and decisions to make.

With all that said, I didn’t quit Medium. Hooray!

But I’ll be taking a different approach to it. Or maybe change again, who knows…I’m just sharing my thoughts here. Extract the lesson yourself :)

Creating on Medium is all fine and dandy (First time using this phrase)

Writing long forms here is a way to truly encapsulate the hidden thoughts that have been hiding from me for a while now. But my focus has been elsewhere at the moment.

It has more to do with the monetization of your writing and less to do with the writing itself.

Please understand me here, pursuing your passion today without making ends meet is impossible. You’re not supposed to be a starving artist.

And in this day and age, it’s almost impossible to be one. A starving artist is someone who can’t make money out of their creative power.

I’ve started writing on X more seriously (138 followers at the time writing this, whoowhoo) It’s not much at the moment but the potential is there.

Since Medium hosts the best writers, X hosts the best entrepreneurs (wannabe)

For me, it’s a place to gain some experience and get into ghostwriting.

But creating on 2 different platforms is difficult

What would work for Medium, won’t work for X.

People here expect a long story, well thought out. They can read through some fluff because they are more patient.

People on X are more goal-oriented and want results fast. Want money, followers, clients, impressions, you name it.

If you can’t catch the attention in 3 seconds or less your post won’t get views.

You can post more, get more impressions, and have more average comments a day on there. As well as talking to people through DMs

For someone like me. It’s just better

I lack the focus (maybe the time as well) to do everything, including going 100% on Medium and on X.

But is it really that difficult?

No.

I’ve been complaining so far, but I’ve got to admit. It feels kinda motivating to write this post.

I can, you can, everybody can pursue their dreams and go 100% on something they really really love.

So for now, I leave you just with my thoughts here.

From tomorrow you can expect me to get the same amount of value and entertainment as before.

Hope everything is well on your part.

And thanks for reading, as always!

Cheers!

-Eddy
