A Litany of Life
Handwritten ideas of the poem

Poem ideas and the pocket book
See the photo above for complete list of ideas. I don’t know what I meant with the third word on the left column, owls?
These were ideas for day 30 of NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo 2017. The prompt challenged to write a poem about something that happens again and again. I looked at life generally and the things that will always happen in it.
The photo was taken in Rostock, Germany where I was visiting for a friend’s fortieth birthday. While travelling, I carried a mini pocket book where I jotted down ideas for a poem that I would type on my laptop later at night or whenever opportunity arose.
Final Poem
Whether in love or heart broken the Earth will keep rotating to east. Between your tears and laughter the sun will always rise and set. Beyond your joy and sorrows the moon will always end up full. Underneath the anger and hatred love always lives in someone’s heart Blessed with light or cursed with dark the stars will always glitter above. Amongst the selfish and selfless there will be prayers said to serve all. Being defeated or having won battles you will surrender to death someday. Lived in sin or anointed in sainthood someone will always remember you.
This poem was first published in my poetry book ‘Let’s Go Dancing In The Light’.
