A letter to my younger self
Dear Kamna,
I acknowledge how ambitious you have been. It’s commendable that you seek to create opportunities in what you pursue.
Please remember, believe in yourself and don’t try to convince others. Be at peace with yourself.
Keep in mind that things might not turn out the way you desire but don’t be disheartened and keep-up your motivation.
Make sure to keep yourself vigilant of the day-to-day affairs and be socially conscious. The best way is to READ as much as you can. Reading will hone your emotional and creative intelligence. Take everything in. Remember, in the long run, no knowledge goes un-utilized.
One thing I want you to do is to stop associating yourself with any particular idea. Be it religion, philosophy, or any thought school. Diversify. Let others not influence your thought process but carve out your journey.
Respect knowledge, not age. Remember, respect is earned, do not demand it.
Do not run behind materialism. Make sure to invest in wisdom, well-being and relationships. Have quality friends and life-long relationships.
Don’t overthink and stop thinking about what others think of you. Make no attempt to impress others. If it has to be, it will.
Keep your mind healthy. Breathe, sleep, and eat a healthy diet as these are the biggest assets of life.
Do not rush into things, let them take their own course. Everything will fall in its place. Make no haste. Make the most of all you have.
Becoming a better version of yourself will need you to continuously update your beliefs, and to upgrade and expand your identity.
Redefine your success, set your own progress measures, and work towards it.
Remember where you come from and how it is to be there. Stay connected to your roots.
Lovingly, Your older self
P.S — Start writing ASAP. The sooner, the better.
