A Lazy $2,500/month Income Stream Created in a Weekend
If you’re interested in lazy income streams or lazy side hustles, you’ll want to hear about this one.
It can earn up to $2,500+ per month.
You can do it on your own (no team needed and no boss), it’s a small business you can run after work or on weekends, and it’s extremely lucrative.
It’s tech-related, which is how you can make around $2,500 per month or more with less time than you might think, while it still being a side hustle.
What is it?
It’s website flipping
Invest in a website, improve it, then sell it (the flip) for profit.

And, I’ve basically been doing this over and over again for the past several years. I like it because it’s fun, easy for me, and quite lucrative.
Some website flippers earn up to $250K per year doing it.
How does website flipping work?
In three parts…
- The investment
- The build/growth phase
- The flip!
Investing your time, energy, and money
First, the investment. You can buy a site and flip it or build a site and flip it.
Buying a site can save you on time and fetch you a potentially larger paycheck when it comes to the flip but, it’s more expensive.
Building a site takes longer to grow and you typically earn less on a new site compared to a seasoned site but, it’s cheaper.
I go the Build route and it usually runs me up to $20 or so, per website. This doesn’t include the cost of hosting which is $30 a month for me, because I run about half a dozen sites or so on my hosting plan.
A hosting plan for one site can start at about $3 per month.
This is my web host, for reference.
I can build a site in about an hour.
If It costs me $20 and one hour to build a site, to sell it for $300, then I just earned $280 (not including website listing fees) for about an hour of work.
$280 an hour flipping websites?
The more you get familiar with the process, the faster you get. And, you’d be surprised how much you can make from empty sites.
You might not get that excited selling a website for $100 or $200 but, if you consider it only took you an hour or a few hours to set up, that makes the process look a lot more appealing.
It’s like making $50+ per hour website flipping!
The build/growth phase
You can get as in depth into this process as you wish.
Some people spend years developing websites.
They will…
- Add thousands of pieces of content to the site
- Monetize it to its full extent
- Hire staff to run the site
- Invest in tools and optimization software for growth
It’s can be a full-time project but, in the end, it could be very worth it.
For example, the site I referenced above, Quirky Cents, took about 9 months for me to get it to the level of selling it for five figures.
In that time, I worked on the site a lot, contributing hundreds of pieces of content to it, promoting it on social media and other channels, and researching and writing blog posts almost every day.
Zero to 9 months at $10K+.
I’ve had other sites that I spent no time at all on, literally.
Like spending 2 hours to build it, selling it for $150 a few days later. $150 could feel like a drop in the bucket but, if this process took you 3 days, start to finish, you could rinse and repeat, back to back for the month, 10 times.
And earn $1,500.
If you sold sites for $250 instead, that’d be $2,500.
It all boils down to how much work you put into the site and what your goals are.
In my group coaching, I’m going to demonstrate the build and flip of a starter website. It will be non-traffic-generating and non-income-producing. I’ll add a bit of content to it but, aside from that, it’ll be a pretty empty site.
You’ll be able to see how easy it is to take on a project like this, yourself.
The flip!
Lastly, the fun part. You get to reap the fruits of your labor.
The flip is about preparing the site to be sold. I use Flippa for selling sites, most commonly but, there are many places you can sell websites.

These are starter sites, 6 months old or younger, not income producing.
You can see people are paying around $100 to $250 each for these sites.
Some are much higher at up to $2,500 for a young starter site….
