A Kiss Beginning

Love Poem from Way Back

.

.

A kiss beginning On your lips Soon tumbles neck-ward down To travel on O’er loving flesh, Up-welling our desire.

Two bodies and two minds entwine, Love’s melody resounds, Sweet waves of pleasure Lift your hips And set your heart on fire.

Most of my writing here at Medium is fresh. This one I wrote to my first girlfriend over four decades ago. She may still have the original. I had to trim the edge after tearing it out of a spiral ring notebook. It featured a blue ink illustration of a guy and gal twisting together like a double helix.

Come to think of it, she probably threw the poem away. She broke up with me by shoving an ice-cream cone down on my head in front of my friends. Yes, I said something wrong.

When we met again five years ago, she carried on a pleasant conversation with me, her brother and my wife. Mostly my wife. I felt awkwardly happy. Nostalgia has me in its grip today. Oh, to be young again!

My other really old poem on Medium is this one. Unlike the love poem, it underwent 3,486 revisions.

If you would like to read an erotic poem that is 53 times better than this one, check out this nice choice from Simran Kankas. I stopped breathing while reading it. Emergency medical personnel resuscitated me from clinical death about five minutes later. Be careful!
