A Jester’s Redeeming Act
A fictional poem about changing ways.
Jesters never do seem to care, as empty the crowds, they try to bear the time is nigh, to seek it there what, you may ask — well muse my dear
laughing to their own beat, with a zest cheering those that pass, and those who spit the ones who reject them, and the ones who accept to them, it's the same, as they don’t care
Who comes, and who goes — they still perform an audience of 1, they jest without a warmth but at times, do they stumble across a child who sits alone in the park
He seems sad, with tears and a broken heart the jester sees the boy, and purposely falls to cheer the little boy, in an attempt to perform in making the kid laugh, he aims to connect
He asks the boy, “what’s up, why the long face” he stays quiet, with a sad voice and asks him to leave — as he cries the jester was shaken, his trick didn’t work well now what puzzled, he gave the boy a piece of candy in a scheme
Here you go little one, eat it — you’ll enjoy the boy takes the sweet, and chomps on it right “blech, what is this” it’s sour — blew his mind the jester laughed promptly at the little boy,
Why did you accept a candy, from a strange little man what if it was poison, and I did a crime the boy looks at the jester and then replies you dress like a clown, mister yet your jokes are dry
The jester laughed hardly, as the boy did surprise no one had talked to him since long, as much as the boy the boy smiled back, to the jester in his reprise thank you, I feel better now — you are one crazy guy
The jester said, calmly to the kind boy well how about an ice-cream, let's do enjoy this moment of celebration to your happiness and joy the agrees, calmly and both run towards the truck
They each chose a cone, and start to devour it whole they jester ate his in one full swing, yet the boy ate it in small bites whilst they sat enjoying — boy asked, the jester “why did you stop by?” The jester replied calmly, “to have an awesome time, with you my dear boy”
The boy smiled brightly as he thus enjoyed with zest the jester looked in awe in what had just transpired he had finally made a friend after all this idle time It was when he finally realized — a purpose redeemed to kindle a young boy
