A Hungry Little Child Begins to Dream Out Loud
Poem
A hungry little child, with empty tummy growls, With no food in sight, he roams and prowls, His tiny hands, reach out in despair, No one to care, no one to share.
His eyes, so big and brown, Reflect the sadness, deep down, As he wanders the streets, all alone, His tiny feet, all worn and prone.
He dreams of cakes and pies, But reality, so cruel, denies, A meal so simple, a luxury so rare, For the little child, life’s not fair.
His cries echo through the night, A sound so haunting, a painful sight, For in a world so rich and grand, Hunger still stalks, across the land.
So let’s not turn a blind eye, To the hunger that makes them cry, Let’s share a meal, a little care, And bring a smile, to a child’s despair.

Often, I see in my mind the desperation of hungry children around the world. This poem helps me with a prayer to the Lord. I wish all children were healthy and happy. I wish there were more people concerned about this problem, as well as ready to do something about it. The future is here.
