Summary

The web content is an abecedarian-style poem titled "A Humble Abecedarian Word Play" by TheresAnn Sylvan, which creatively lists food items from A to Z, occasionally including personal commentary and preferences.

Abstract

"A Humble Abecedarian Word Play" is a literary piece that takes the form of an abecedarian, a type of writing where each line or section begins with a successive letter of the alphabet. The author, TheresAnn Sylvan, uses this structure to explore a variety of foods, from fruits like apples and blackberries to more complex dishes like gumbo and jambalaya. The poem is interspersed with the author's personal reactions to these foods, such as a dislike for eggplant and instant oatmeal, a love for Himalayan Pink Salt and vanilla, and mentions of allergies to items like pea pods and mangoes. The work is inspired by the abecedarian poems of Manasi Diwakar and Salam Khan and includes a note encouraging other writers to take on the abecedarian challenge. The author also humorously acknowledges the oversight of not including chocolate or coffee in the original draft.

Opinions

  • The author expresses a strong dislike for eggplant, stating "Eggplant (I hate.)"
  • Instant oatmeal is negatively described as "Ugh! Congealed and gluey!"
  • Himalayan Pink Salt is highlighted as a favorite.
  • There is an admission of allergy to pea pods and pineapple.
  • The author has a noted preference for vanilla, emphasized with "Love it!!"
  • Xanax is mentioned with a humorous note, indicating it's "not needed here!"
  • The author regrets not thinking of chocolate or coffee initially, considering it an "egregious, regrettable, and surprising omission."
  • The poem concludes with a tag to other writers, challenging them to create their own abecedarian works.
