A Hot Haiku

Hot weather is the reason this haiku is hot

I’ll write something short

Not a tribute to the heat

Then seek heat relief

Another day to complain about the heat. It’s boring and pointless to gripe about it, but my computer is even feeling its effects.

I’m sure I’m not the only internet user who keeps getting messages that tell me what I already know: the connection is slow. Sometimes the wording is different but the message is the same.

As the slow connection continues, my computer starts obeying commands it must be receiving from little tech-demons from cyber-space. My computer refuses to hyperlink, to capitalize words, to handle the daily basics.

I know the electricity grid in my area is working at full-capacity (my words, not their tech-speak), so the best solution I’ve found is to lessen my use of electricity, go sit in a comfortable recliner, and write my ideas in long-hand, which is now called cursive.

Next week is forecast to be much cooler in the eastern half of the U.S., so let’s hope that happens.
