A Heartwarming & Happy Moment In The Midst of Bangalore’s Traffic Nightmare
November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Happiness”
Stuck In Traffic Found In Friendship
Bangalore traffic congestions are notorious worldwide. Maneuvering through such conditions always leads to a nightmarish experience, stirring up frustration and anger.
Due to the lack of convenient public transport, I grapple with this stress daily as driving remains my sole means of commuting to the office. Just the other day, a road accident near my workplace held me captive in traffic for almost four grueling hours on my way back from work.
While I typically find solace in light music and the soothing chants of mantras to keep my temper and frustration in check while driving — something unexpectedly delightful transpired amidst the driving stress on that particular day.
It’s a memory I’ll always cherish.
As I patiently awaited the streets to clear and the traffic signal to change, I glanced at the car beside mine. To my surprise, two beautiful eyes peered at me through a fluffy coat, and a paw extended through the open window as if inviting me for a chat.
The adorable dog’s little puppy eyes glistened with warmth. Seated in the driver’s seat next to the dog was its owner, who smiled and mentioned that little Sandy adored making friends.
I couldn’t resist extending my hand to shake my furry friend’s little paw. In that moment, it brought me immense happiness to experience this friendly gesture from the puppy. It felt like it sensed my frustration and urged me to remain calm and patient.
Dogs are often touted as the most trustworthy and loving companions. Despite my allergies keeping me at a distance from furry animals, I still adore observing them and occasionally allow them to come close.
Happiness, indeed, is a state of mind. I must admit, little Sandy successfully altered my state of mind, transforming my mood and bringing joy, if only for a moment.”
