A Healthy Holiday Tradition
Exercising can be fun!
Each year my town hosts a 5K to benefit local organizations and scholarships within the town. It’s held the weekend after Thanksgiving and is a great way to kick off the holiday season. The run is festive with decorations, costumes, the high school chorus singing along the route, and the community coming together.
For the last several years a couple of my friends along with the littles, and dogs have walked the 5K. Have we come in last in the past? Sure, but that is not what is important. We are getting our exercise, kicking off the holiday season, participating in a community event, enjoying each other’s company, making memories we laugh about, and having fun.
The local holiday run has become a tradition for us and something we look forward to each year while getting our steps in. Who knew exercising would be so much fun and a bonding experience?
