The Happy Accident
When I was first introduced into self-hypnosis I was told it could be a way to train the subconscious to do what you want. You could also train other people to do what you want.
It doesn’t work if you don’t want it to. You can trick it into working buy first telling yourself or someone else that they want you to be able to do it. That way when you try to program the subconscious it will listen.
First training exercise I needed to learn. How to relax. Get into the thata state. It’s that part of the subconscious that communicates with your conscious
When starting to get into a comfortable position lying on your back with a pillow underneath your knees. This helps to align your back and relieve stress.
Once you find a comfortable position tense all your muscles. Relax again. Knowing that your body is not completely relaxed you start at your toes and count backward from 10.Relax the muscles working through your body.
10 Relax your toes and your feet. Up through your ankles.
9. Relax your calf muscles, you’re knees. 9 Your upper thighs.
8 Relax the back of your legs
7 Relax your butt.
6 Relax your back your lower back your stomach
5 Relax your chest your upper back
4 Relax your shoulders
3 Relax your arms, biceps, and triceps, your forearms, your hands, and your fingers
2 Relax neck the muscles of the back of your neck and the top of your head.
1 Relax your face the muscles around your eyes your cheeks your jaws and your lips your tongue and your chin. Relax your eyelids.
Feel your whole body relaxed.
Once you have relaxed your whole body you can journey deeper into your mind. Close your eyes and look into the velvety darkness behind your eyelids. Your consciousness exists there for a Time.
This is The place you start to communicate with your subconscious.
I started to experiment with astral travel, lucid dreaming, and some conscious control.
During this time of my life, I always worked 12 hours a day with five kids. I worked the night shift and slept during the day.
Sometimes this was not easy with the noises of everyday life, the television, kids playing, pots, pans, and dishes clanging, cooking, lawnmowers, car starting, trucks driving. While everyone else it’s awake and I should be asleep. Sometimes I would put in earplugs. This didn’t really help.
One of the things I would do was to go to the rifle range. There you are required to wear shooting ear protection.
I also got into meditation. Trying to quiet all distractions in the world to center on one thing.
I learned the Taoist Monks wood set motionless for hours even days, sometimes without eating too quiet themselves. Ignoring outside distractions until they could hear their heartbeat. They were able to focus on this heartbeat until it became the only thing they noticed.
Now comes the time for the happy accident.
I was trying to get to that velvety darkness behind my eyelids. With the normal day to day l noises and distractions, I would lay comfortably in bed with earplugs in trying to ignore all the sounds.
It wasn’t working.
I have shooting ear muffs that bock the sounds. They fit over your ears. They put slight pressure on the side of your head.
One of the things I noticed was that the pressure on the side of my head allowed me to feel the sensation of blood flowing through my temples. It’s the sound of your heartbeat.
I realize this.
I did the relaxation exercise and relax my whole body. I went to the velvety darkness behind my eyelids. I noticed the sound of my heartbeat.
One of the ways you can make hypnosis work for you is to set a trigger for your subconscious to activate and have you do things.
How to set a trigger? It’s a phrase said or done by you or someone else that sets your subconscious into motion.
While in this state of mind I told my subconscious that every time I could hear my heartbeat if I wanted I could instantly return to this state of mind.
I set it so that when I counted backward, 3 2 1, and say relax, I could instantly return to this state of being.
When I set this trigger I told myself that if anything happened I could return to full consciousness with no side effects and deal with whatever happens in life.
I stumbled upon this awareness by accident and since I have intentionally used this trigger to get to that state of mine where I am fully relaxed and can rest.
Some people when they get this relaxed use this space as a power nap. I use it for this sometimes too.
I also use this to set intention into my subconscious.
If you want to set new intentions into the subconscious, yours, or somebody else’s if you use these techniques you can do it too.
I found this by accident but you can do it Intentionally.
