A Great Stimulation For Our Minds
Taking Time To Do This Daily Leads To Better Mental Health

In my opinion, one of the best ways to de-stress and stimulate our minds is by taking daily evening walks.
This specific physical type of exercise can clear and refresh people’s minds of whatever stressful and negative thoughts and feelings they’ve accumulated throughout the day.
This is probably due to a combination of factors, such as:
- the fresh air
- the physical, continuous motion of the whole body
- the increased, more vigorous blood flow to the brain
- paying attention to the act of walking itself as well as the path in front of you
- the external stimuli, particularly the sights, and sounds
Collectively, these factors naturally cause people’s minds to clear themselves of any pressing or stressful thoughts, or at least to shift such thoughts to the back of people’s minds, away from the center of their attention, thus allowing them to relax.
Refreshed, More Energetic Minds
As a result, people’s minds become generally more refreshed and energetic, compared to their previous state before they started their walk.
This then enables people to develop and formulate new or different ideas and perspectives on whatever issues they were grappling with throughout the day.
This is due to the decluttering of their minds, hence allowing them to think and find solutions with more focus and clarity.
Spend An Appropriate Amount Of Time Walking
To achieve the positive effects of daily walks, one must be satisfied with the time he or she spends walking.
Walking routines that are too short will result in dissatisfaction as people will feel that they didn’t get enough or put much effort into walking.

On the other hand, walking routines that are too long will also result in dissatisfaction as people will feel frustrated and that they’re wasting time or forcing themselves to walk longer than they want to.
Hence, in general, when going for daily walks, people should spend a reasonable amount of time walking to achieve optimal effects.
It’s important to note, however, that a reasonable time spent is subjective, and should ultimately depend on the individual in question and how long he or she genuinely intends to walk.
It’s Important To Be Genuinely Committed
Ultimately though, the only way to truly experience the positive effects of daily walks is to genuinely be determined and committed to it. This allows people to enjoy their daily walks.
Because if people view it as a chore or something that they’re forced to do, the impact will be much less as their hearts aren’t in it.
